For the fourth year, the International Museum of Art and Science will be hosting "A Night at the Brew-seum," a beer festival, at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the museum in McAllen.
The annual event has stretched from a one-night-only event to a weeklong celebration, starting with the "Battle of the Brew" home-brewing contest Saturday, April 14, at Roosevelt's at 7, and a "Beer Dinner" on Thursday, April 19, at IMAS.
Homemade brews will be judged at the "Battle of the Brew" event, and prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners.
A beer dinner inspired by the Spoetzl Brewery will feature a feast created by Shiner brewmasters Peter Koestler and Hans Helbert, and house.wine's chef and owner Larry Delgado. Tickets for the dinner are limited to 150, and they will cost $75 per person.
The main event, "A Night at the Brew-seum," will feature the Deutsch and Deutsch German Beer Garden and a Stella Artois Tap House Tent. There will be live entertainment, games like the "99 Bottles of Beer Ring Toss," raffles and a photo booth. More than 20 Valley restaurants will offer a huge selection of beer and food.
Howl at the Moon, a dueling pianos act, will perform. Also playing at the event will be local band Marshall Law, and The Jolly Huntsmen, an "oompah" band performing traditional polka music.
Tickets for the events are on sale and can be purchased at IMAS. Proceeds from the events are raised to help support the mission of IMAS.
