"Splendor of Nature" is a striking mural exhibit with bold colors by artist Mars Woodhill. Inspired by natural phenomena, Mars' paintings hint at biological, geological and cartographical influences. A work may suggest the interior of a mineral formation, an astronaut's view of an undiscovered world, or a new life form rising.

The exhibit is hung in the beautiful new Discovery Center with the large murals hanging from the vaulted ceiling. The exhibition is presented by Yvonamor Palix Fine Arts from Houston. Her intricate abstract paintings often with evocative titles focusing on the interior world of nature, are magnified to monumental proportions. Interwoven layers of paint and fluid dynamics create a delicate complex skein of jewel colors.

Yvonamor Palix, art historian of French-Mexican origin opened her first gallery in Paris, France (Bastille Quartier) in 1990, later opening a branch in Mexico City (Colonia Roma). Yvonamor's newest location in Houston showcases European and Latin American art. The gallery's focus is to continue to attract a client base which includes private collectors, art consultants, corporate art acquisition, designers and architects (visit yvonamorpalixart.com).

The magnificent paintings will be on sale and a percentage of proceeds from the paintings will benefit Quinta Mazatlan's Environmental Education Programs. Gather at Quinta Mazatlan on Thursday evening to enjoy art, wine tasting, violin virtuoso, and good company.
